According to police, two youths from Virginia were about to break into a house in New York and commit theft. Their plan was to break into the family’s house, hold them hostage and then force them to reveal the private key’s code. The US Department of Justice, South District New York reported this in a press release issued. The department reported that Dominic Pineda and Shawn Morgan were caught planning cryptocurrency theft in the middle of the night.

U.S. Attorney General Damian Wilson said that, as alleged in the case, the defendants planned to break into the house in the middle of the night and take the occupants of the house hostage and ask for the code that, according to him, would cost millions of dollars. that bitcoin currency existed. He thanked the FBI for apprehending these two and said that now both of them have been arrested under these alleged actions.

Both the accused were arrested on June 23 and the case was presented in White Plains Federal Court the next day. According to the case, Pindia and Morgan did this planning between 18 and 24 May 2020. What punishment will be given to both of them, it will be decided by the judge. Both are being presumed innocent till they are proven technically. The investigation lasted two years, conducted by the FBI West Chester County Safe Streets Task Force. This included investigators from several agencies such as the New York State Police, US Probation, the Irvington Police Department, and the Greenberg Drug and Alcohol Task Force.
