Samsung ties up with Theta Labs for the upcoming Galaxy lineup

Samsung has partnered with Theta Labs to build a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for the launch of its upcoming flagship device, the Galaxy Fold 4. Those who pre-order the device in South Korea will receive unique digital collectibles through their units. Theta Network will provide NFT claimants with a registration platform called Thetadrop, which will allow them to collect their NFTs after verification.

Samsung is using NFTs as a way to reward its fans like authentication tools and discount benefits.

CryptoSlate quoted a Korean press release that Samsung says of this partnership as “Samsung Electronics will continue to innovate the customer experience that connects the virtual world and the real world using NFTs with various partners.”

More details about Samsung’s NFT plans will be revealed on August 10.

The tech giant first partnered with Theta Labs in February ahead of the launch of its Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8.

In a Medium post, Theta Labs co-founder and CEO Mitch Liu said, “These NFTs offer unique customer benefits for pre-ordering Samsung’s flagship mobile device for the first time in the industry. We’re offering Galaxy customers the ongoing subscription benefits and We are planning to offer the privileges that Samsung Theta Smarter NFT owns and look forward to building a long-term community among members.”

Meanwhile, Theta Network has updated people about the partnership on Twitter.
